So Young Chung graduated from Brooklyn Law School in May 2005 and received her undergraduate degree from Barnard College, Columbia University in 2001.  Upon graduating from law school, she worked for the Administration for Children’s Services as an Agency Attorney, representing Family Court Legal Services in child welfare proceedings, all the while learning invaluable skills such as time management over her 100+ cases, trial preparation, and working with various parties such as social workers, opposing attorneys, and court personnel.  So Young took a hiatus from practicing law so that she could raise her two children and help care for her parents and extended family.  Upon her return to the legal field, she had the opportunity to work with Danielle Leventhal Elias, founding attorney of Leventhal Elias Law, PLLC, and immersed herself into a new field of law, which included estate planning estate and trust administration and Medicaid planning.   So Young found that her desire to help others navigate through challenging and difficult times was met just as well in this field of law and so she pursued and built upon her interest by continuing to work closely with Danielle for the past five years.  So Young is an associate attorney who largely assists clients with the probate and estate administration process.    She also assists clients with their Medicaid planning through the preparation and submission of their Medicaid home care or nursing home applications.  In addition, she assists clients with their estate planning and asset protection needs.  So Young is excited to continue her journey with Danielle at Leventhal Elias Law, PLLC as she is certain that together, they are able to offer their clients a comprehensive experience, one that encompasses compassion, empathy, communication, and strong ethics.

So Young is a member of the New York State Bar Association and its Elder Law and Special Needs Section.

So Young lives with her family in Staten Island, New York.  She loves spending time with her family, attending her son’s soccer and volleyball games and her daughter’s dance competitions and performances, and taking walks with their rescue dog.
